Treatment Room
Comprehensive OT, PT and Speech therapy services are available in our treatment room which contains a variety of equipment including vestibular swings, Swiss balls, rock climbing wall, ball pit, balance beam, mats for stretching and parallel bars for gait training. Attending skills, sensory processing and muscle tone should be at an optimal level of functioning after a Hippotherapy lesson; this is a beneficial time to continue working towards success on functional goals and objectives. Comprehensive evaluations can also be arranged for all three disciplines.
"Sense-Sational" Social Skills Group
This unique group is led by both the speech pathologist and occupational therapist. Children are offered an exciting opportunity to work on social language skills as well as fine motor and sensory development through monthly themed activities such as gardening, cooking, crafts and other kid-friendly, "sense-sational" activities!
Applied Learning and Language
Our teacher of the handicapped specializes in working with children on the autism spectrum and provides individualized educational services using applied behavior analysis for students with developmental delays. Emphasis is functional (and fun) language and learning skill development through motivation and reinforcement. Individual instruction follows principles of verbal behavior with techniques such as intensive teaching (discrete trial), verbal modules and incidental instruction.
Signing Fingers
A one of a kind program! Research shows that all children regardless of their communication or hearing ability benefit from learning sign language. Join us as we bring signing to life through songs, games, stories, and playtime in a group setting. Mommy & Me as well as adult/parent/professional classes are offered. Classes are designed for children with special needs as well as their typically developing siblings and friends.
Therapeutic Martial Arts
What a fun way to promote discipline of the mind, body and spirit while improving body awareness, balance, and motor planning! A Martial Arts instructor leads a group of eight children through a series of basic techniques while the physical therapist assists and facilitates movements with the children working on physical therapy goals.
Therapeutic Yoga
Designed to increase body awareness, strength and flexibility, this class of eight children is led by a yoga instructor with the physical therapist assisting and facilitating fun developmental patterns of movement and strength building postures. Emphasis will be placed on therapy goals in addition to breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, improving self-esteem and confidence while expressing creativity and imagination!
Music Therapy
Music Therapy is an established health profession that uses musical activities to enhance social, communication and behavioral issues. Music Therapy encourages socialization, self-expression, communication and motor development. Music Therapy nourishes the quality of a child's life. It provides a unique opportunity for a child with special needs to embark upon a stimulating and creative musical journey.
